Morgan is the best option. Not cup tied as well. He also fits under Arsene's criteria, he isn't what you call a very raw player. He can pass the ball, dribble and score as well. Question is, given how expensive Southampton's players were in the Summer what price tag will they put on him.

Pretty good stats as well.

  • Tackles per game: 3.6
  • Interceptions per game: 1.8
  • Average pass accuracy: 89.5%
  • Long passes per game: 5.5

I'm a bit worried about lack of height though. I think he's 5'11? We desperately need an enforcer on the pitch, both mentally and physically. We have enough small players, I want a beast.

Isn't it a bit crazy how they sold half their team and are still in 5th place? I think he supposed to be their best player.

Should've signed him in the summer. Wenger is an idiot. Every year he has this obsession of beating the odds, managing to succeed despite being understaffed, no depth, not enough quality. And every year he gets humiliated. An absolutely clueless, outdated manager.

He was not for sale. If case you forgot there was a whole saga about his situation. Also you're in no position to call Arsene an idiot when your name of choice is left testicle...

Schneiderlin is natural replacement for Arteta and the right one. He is not small, he is fast and good passer from the deep. We dont need some big monstrosity that will run around foul people and brake legs.

Like Matic, Busquets, etc?

I think we desperately need a physical presence in midfield. Big doesn't automatically equal dumb and clumsy. Look at Bayern, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Man City...they all have balance in size. Some tricky midgets but also some imposing beasts.

Matic is very good player and flavor of the month... well this half season, and yes physical presence. But Schneiderlin even if smaller then Busquets definitely not less physically imposing.

Size don't mean someone will dominated the midfield, it helps but for us Schneiderlin speed will help even more. Any of this 3 are great players at their position, and size should not be factor, its overused stereotype vs us.

I can't believe this as true, especially since the most successful teams in the world all have a balance between quick little tricksters and big brawly men. I can't even name a single team in the last 20 years who have been successful without a physical presence in midfield.

Luis Gustavo was heir to the Gilberto throne, until the wolves took him.

Also, won't be surprised if we end up without purchasing a DM considering that he brought le Coq back from loan. Typical Wenger.

Well why not Coq, still to early to judge but he is fantastic in this short period. You can see it on the pitch and stats back him up too. He would benefit from player like Ramsey or Arteta next to him, but his passing is not bad at all.
