Arsenal Report App?

Posted by danielson116 almost 8 years ago · 9 replies

I don't know about you guys but I think an Arsenal Report app would be a great idea. Not sure who would code it and how it would link to the actual site but I wanted to put the idea out on the table.

I've started dabbling in Swift a bit, but still early days. Creating an app that displays injuries and transfers (and then sends push notifications as they happen) is priority one really. Forum functionality is a step up as it requires login sessions to be shared, and the ability to publish to our database.

How about Ionic?

This is me after five minutes using Ionic:

Is it that bad? I was considering it (a good friend who has used it highly recommended it), since I have no experience on mobile development whatsoever, and I'd like to make an APP for my website sometime in the foreseeable future.

Go straight into learning Swift instead, all these mobile frameworks are cool and all but have no future. All the time you'll spend learning it will be for nothing in a few years' time, whereas Swift will be around for many many years. Also, if you become good at it you can start charging £600/day in London. Which is nice.

Why not see what % of your potential users doesn't have an iPhone? Result may make you reconsider.
