Matchday Thread - Chelsea v Arsenal - 19 September 2015

Bleurgh. Feels like Chelsea are gonna trounce us today. Out of form, something to prove, playing at home...they'll be winding us up all day, and we can't handle that. Predicting 2-0 at half-time, at which point Wenger calmly tells our players everything is alright and that they should believe in themselves, everything not to hurt their feelings...and then the game will end 5-0.

10 years ago our players wouldn't stand for it. Vieira, Lauren, Gilberto, Sol would be all over Costa. We would've turned it into a war and we would've won it. Now our captain was a 4ft 5 lovable midget and half the team hasn't got a backbone whatsoever.

Exactly, that's what makes him special. He opens up in between the opposition lines but you know fuckall about football and probably applaud in awe when Henderson starts chasing the ball after his first touch.

Positive feeling at highest level here !!!

Arsenal: Čech; Bellerín, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Cazorla; Ramsey, Özil, Sánchez; Walcott

VS

Chelsea XI : Begovic - Ivanovic, Zouma, Cahill, Azpilicueta - Matic, Fabregas - Pedro, Oscar, Hazard - Diego Costa

Hard to recall a match when ref cheated as much as Mike Dean did in this one. Costa made 5 red card offenses in 1 episode and got a yellow, this wasn't enough for Mike cucksucking Dean and he sent off Gabriel. Cazorla had 2 fouls in the game and you guessed it both of them were rewarded with yellows by Mike the cucksucking Deat. Oscard had about 4 fouls for which he received 1 booking. Costa then kicked Chamberlain to which of course Mike the cunt Dean didn't even award us with a freekick. Honestly the fact that I'm an Arsenal fan aside, this has been by far the biggest cheating I'v ever seen by a referee.

Have to be honest, days like today are making me fall more and more out of love with football. The sport refuses to introduce technology to help the referees create a fair atmosphere on the pitch, and this despite of the game already having huge elements of luck as a key component (ball is round, many players on the pitch, etc). Human error from refs should not be another factor.

Add to that the rise of oil-rich clubs that buy themselves to success instead of earning it by their own accord, and then on top of that the corruption at the highest level where bribes and egos rule. This not only happens at FIFA, but also at club level with Barcelona openly admitting to corruption during their "golden era". Football has become a pantomime exercise where fairness is sacrificed for drama.

If that wasn't enough, the corruption also happens at player level. Clubs like Chelsea openly supports and promotes racism by making John Terry captain - a player that has been proven by the FA to be a racist by calling another player a "black cunt". They intentionally play and hire players and managers whose only role is to antagonise the opposition, and they are hailed by the media and fellow players as having "killer instinct" - despite the fact that this open promotion of racism results in the fans thinking it's ok and then throwing black people off trains.

I simply don't invest my time and passion into the sport to see what the ref will see on the day, or what the corporates behind the scenes want to happen. I watch it because I want to see two football teams meet and see who is the better team on the day. Not who can get the other sent off, or who can buy the best players to gain an unfair advantage just to reach an illusion of success.

Perhaps the best way forward is to just accept the fact that football is not a sport. It's a drama.

Worst thing was we were playing well until the sending off imo. We could've easily nicked a goal but 9 v 12 in the end means we were always going to lose.

Every other team in the prem is fully aware of costa and actually seeks to take advantage of his loose cannon status.

Arsenal remains aloof to this, and is so mentally weak that they succumb to this light provocation and fall apart, and then cry to the media after the fact.

Pathetic.

You seem to fit the typical profile for arsenal fan who would rather just lash out at other fans' credentials as fans rather than hear a well-justified negative word against this team.

If you don't think arsenal is weak minded and completely aloof to the opposition perhaps your credentials as a fan should be called into question

even though i may not agree with wenger for certain aspects what happened today was literally all that was not football is supposed to be, gabriel was scratched by that animal called costa(it is disgrace for animals that i have called him so ) http://dailycannon.com/2015/09/look-diego-costa-scratched-gabriel/http://dailycannon.com/2015/09/look-diego-costa-scratched-gabriel/ http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/arsenal/news/jose-mourinho-defends-diego-costa_247229.html before that he slaps koscielny , chest-butts him i mean what is this ????

mourino may win as many trophies as he wants but honor is everything, let him go screw himself,

alteast it is good that city is not running away and has dropped points with hammers. now without coquelin and cazorla what will wenger do ?? hopefully coquelin will be alright, then ramsey- cm, RW - walcott, st-giroud ? or will campbell get a chance.. only time will reveal answers to these questions.

Go gunners!!!!!!!!!!!!
