I'm gonna say what I said on Reddit when someone said they wanted Eddie Howe because we'll be shit either way:
I think you're looking too much at Man Utd when drawing this conclusion, and I disagree with the assessment. Man Utd was exposed in the transition for actually not having a very good team in general. SAF was the ultimate key to success, not the players. For decades, Man Utd was run by an iron fist, squeezing every ounce of talent out of mediocre players using fear and aggression. Poor game? I'll kick a boot in your face and sell you to Real Madrid at the height of your career. Etc.
Moyes brought in players to serve his system, then Van Gaal brought in players for his system and now Mourinho is not only past his prime but also stuck with a Frankenstein set of players who weren't ever meant to play in the same system. It's going to take years for them to have a coherent squad again, especially since Mourinho's modus operandi seems to be to just buy whatever £50m+ players he can get and hope for the best.
I think the situation at Arsenal is the complete opposite. Whoever comes in will inherit a squad of very good players that all belong to the same system. The dressing room atmosphere is fantastic and there is plenty of talent in the squad. This is a great place to start a new era. Our board also wouldn't allow knee jerk reactions like they did at Man Utd, ending up with three managers in three years.
Whether it's Howe or not I don't really have an opinion. But whoever it is, we need someone who is up to date in football tactics and willing to take more risks than Wenger. High risk = high reward. That is how the Premier League works.

Didn't like any of the choices! I don't want to keep Wenger, but don't want any of the other choices either. Van Gaal? Fraud. Mourinho? Ten years past his prime. Guardiola? Fraud. Conte? Why would Chelsea ever let him go?

Heard something about Juventus' Allegri neither confirming nor denying interest.

That is obviously the club testing the water, ensuring they have potential replacements in case Wenger does not extend his contract come July.

Starting to really think this is Arsene's last season. Was hoping he'd leave on a high but it could be a terrible low, should've really left after the second FA Cup win.
Nailed on for Allegri to get the job too, bit hesitant with him and would prefer Simeone/Sampaoli, but Arsene's built the club, we just need someone who can regiment the squad to reap the fruit of his labour

Arsene needs to announce he's leaving at the end of the season now. In doing so he'll give our shithouse board enough time that even they can't fuck up (unless they appoint Eddie Howe the PE teacher) and hopefully every Arsenal fan will rally behind the team for Arsene's lst few months.
Bowing out with top 4 and an FA Cup would be a good ending for what was a potentially disastrous season

He should have announced his intention in July instead of milking all the unnecessary attention and distraction from the legitimate purposes of the team.

Its the players again and again letting him and the club down... there are many players carried away by Wenger's unreasonable trust on them though they have more bad days than good...

Do you see how many players in the current team have survived only because of Wenger's immense faith.. If anyone else, many would have shown the door by this time..
Even ManUtd had a decent team when Alex left and suddenly the new mangers came with new set of players for their system and lost in the middle of huge expectations of the board and fans... Same fate is happening with ManCity also now, they have a pretty good squad on paper but still struggling to cope with the demand of PL..

I highly doubt it because no one has approached him to get him at Arsenal.

The question is: who is willing to leave a European elite club to manage Arsenal.
