Polish wonderkid Krystian Bielik reveals Wenger talks

Posted by Ix Techau about 10 years ago · 33 replies

16-year old defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik has been talking to the Polish press about his Arsenal trials:

Wenger told me what he sees in me, then asked about my strengths. It turns out that we had a similar opinion. He said I would start training with the first team under his guidance, and then it all depends on me. He knows that I have the skills, that I am determined to win and he wants to sign me as soon as possible to start working with me.

I would train with the first team and play in the junior teams, U18, U19 or U21, and Wenger says that if I am good enough to stay in the first team, I will remain in it.

Looks really good; liked the cross-field distribution. Seems a little slow, but 16 and playing top level football??!!

I'm fine with slow in this case, his diagonal movement and positional awareness make up for the lack of speed. Similar to how Vieira didn't rely on speed but on positioning, creativity and power. Matic is a good example of this new type of 'modern DM'.

Kid's supposed to be training with the first team and if he proves he might even play a couple of games! I would want him loaned out to championship side to get a taste of English football as long as he is not needed once we have Arteta, Ramsey Ozil back from injury i doubt if he would even make it to the bench!

Yeah I can't see Wenger giving this kid a run, unless Flamini, Coquelin, Arteta and Ramsey are all out. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if he'd rather play Chambers in midfield over a 16-year old.

I agree we should pay and get over it. He is far too young and is hugely talented we will only make money on him (He needs to keep his head in place though). Loan him out to some other club like cheaski does.

Those Russian bastards must be applauded for the loan policy they've managed to set up. They spent unthinkable amounts of cash for years only to get their hands on 50 first team players and loan out half of them, ready to come back at any time (when they are ready to make an impact) and strengthen Chelsea without them having to spend a penny.

Not only that, the loan system also prevents their loaned out players to hurt Chelsea's campaign, all while they work as agents on behalf of Stamford Bridge.

Reminds me of how Barca operated during their golden years, with shady transfers to boost their finances (Chygrynskiy, Ibrahimovic, etc).

So is he a box to box or a CDM? It says he's a defender on whoscored.

Bielik quotes from yesterday, the deal is closing in on being done:

I’ve made a decision [to join Arsenal] and I’m not going to change it. I am looking forward to an agreement between the heads of the clubs. I realise that the negotiations may take some time. I am, however, confident it will happen soon.

Legia Warsaw president Boguslaw Lesnodorski is now saying that Bielik is in Germany having talks with Hamburg. All because Wenger didn't want to pay the extra €1m they asked for:

Krystian is in Hamburg. Germany is very determined. For them money does not matter, but let's see how things become after final talks with Arsenal
