Ronald Koeman says Morgan Schneiderlin to Arsenal is "up to him"

Don't know why we need him, our midfield is fine.
Morgan is happy, but it is up to the player. We like to keep everybody but we know sometimes it's difficult. But there aren't any serious bids for the player.
Cover/competition for Coquelin? If Coq gets injured for a lengthy spell, we're in the shit.

The thought of Coquelin getting injured haunts me. God save us if we have to play Flamini in any match. Although I'm okay with Arteta playing against lower league/European group stage teams at home however.

Schneiderlin is not a DM, so we'd be screwed either way.

I don't want to start discussion (again) about what or who is DM but call him whatever you want, Schneiderlin is great defensively, calm and his passing range is good.

I think the point is that although he might operate in DM zones from time to time, and might even be good defensively, that is not what we need as backup to Coquelin. If anything, Coquelin has showed in the last six months that all these allround CMs (Ramsey, Wilshere...players like Schneiderlin) we've used for years have been the wrong recipe in midfield.
We need an aggressor, a pure defensive-minded player who isn't calm and who could spend days looking for fucks to give over his passing accuracy. In other words, someone like Coquelin.
