Thierry Henry says move of the season was to bring Coquelin back
Henry was asked about Coquelin on Sky Sports:
For me the best thing [Arsenal have] done [this season] is bring Coquelin back from Charlton. Maybe if he hadn’t come back and played the way he did recently, Arsene would have gone and bought a defensive midfielder.
On what Coquelin brings to the side:
He has been amazing, Arsenal don’t look like they will concede, they can score and he gave everyone protection everybody was talking about. Sometimes you look for that player and they are right in front of you. But the guy has matured, he went on loan, and knows he had to perform and he is doing it.
On how Coquelin saved Wenger's January window:
What Coquelin does is allow you to go for the player you want in the summer, because in January you go for the player that is available. Coquelin allowed Arsene to go for someone he really wants, or if Coquelin does the job really well, he can stay.
On Arsenal's title chances:
If [Arsenal] go on a big run, you never know what is going to happen. Everyone is raving about Sanchez, and rightly so because he is amazing. But the key for me was putting Cazorla in the middle of the park.
It's also weird how we keep getting clean sheets when we don't have Szczesny in the starting lineup. When Martinez was starting we had clean sheets, now Ospina. I really think Szczesny is a liability.

I disagree completely. Ospina has been lucky to come into the team just as Bellerin and Coquelin have hit form, and Mertesacker+Koscielny has started finding each other's rhythms again. The whole back four with Coquelin as sweeper is super solid, and Chezzer would have performed just as well in this current side.
I don't know why people so easily forget that most of Chezzer's errors are a result of dodgy defending. Not all, but most. Our poor back fours have made Chezzer look like a clown on numerous occasions this season, yet Chez gets all the blame.

It's possible that the dodgy defending is due to the keeper behind them. Even before Bellerin hit form and Coquelin came back from loan, Martinez kept clean sheets.

Look at the errors leading to Chezzer errors and you'll see that Chezzer had nothing to do with the build-up.

Now I'm very exited for COQ and his progress, i always saw him as very balanced player that can cover lot of holes in our squad. But as many other players in the past, i fell he get to much praise in such a short period of time, as if they want to jinx him or something. He played only few games, granted he was fantastic in them, but why people have to go to such hyperbole's i dont get it, even see people who call him useless, deadwood, not good enough, are on his coq. He show his quality, aggressiveness and his desire, would like to see from him to calm down bit, and control the game, with brain. I guess that will come ( i hope ) with time.

I personally believe that holding players are ones who understand the game most. If Arteta was more physically imposing and quicker across the ground, I honestly think he'd be on of the best CDMs in the world.

Arteta alongside Özil are probably the two most intelligent footballing-wise in our squad. Arteta is vital to keep for the squad and I'm glad he signed an extension. He's a great role model to the youngsters in the team, is our only leader and will be a phenomenal coach once he hangs up his boots. Can even see him becoming a hugely successful manager.
It's a shame his legs are going but he is perfect to use against lower/CL group stage opposition at home.
