Wenger talks about or goalkeeping options, says Chezzer is still #1
On Ospina's recent performances:
David Ospina has had some time to settle because he was injured when he arrived here. During that time we could see his dedication, his focus and his quality.
On who's the number one goalkeeper:
He’s in a fight with Wojciech Szczesny to start at the moment. Wojciech is the No1 but David has played recently. Can he retain the shirt in the coming games? We’ll decide that. I don’t forget Emiliano Martinez either, who I rate highly. We have three top goalkeepers and the fight for who starts is going on.
On Ospina's chances of keeping his starting position:
You have to be consistent if you want to retain the shirt. It can be very difficult to adapt for a goalkeeper when you move to England. In fact, it is maybe the most special and difficult position to get used to. Why? Because there is more freedom here to challenge the ‘keeper than in any other country, which I like.
It is a big test for a goalkeeper because you need to be committed, brave and not fazed by the challenges you get. The first signs that David has shown are positive but it is not done. Every game is no important for him.
Its very early to talk about Ospina as number one we had only 4 games to judge him compare to Szczesny 21. His distribution from the back is at this moment is best in the league, but i would like to wait and see after 10 games to judge his passing. For now he complete x2.5 more accurate long passes then Szczesny, this is major reason why we aren't constant pressure when we defend. It wont be fer for Ospina to get dropped without reason, right now.

As I stated in another thread, somehow it seems that when Szcz isn't int the lineup, we get more clean sheets. Doesn't really matter who's in place for him, whether it would be Martinez or Ospina.

And as I said in that other thread, Ospina is lucky to play in this in-form side with a solid back four and a good DM.

That's true, Szczesny was keeper when we had our worst period, with shifted back line. Problem is he never impose on game. Other then WHA he lose points too us more then he help us. And his kicking is awful, something he never improved with years. Other then the period when he was targeting Sagna.

Szczesny has the most accurate distribution of any keeper in the premier league. Mostly because of the short, dangerous passes he plays.
