Posted by Ix Techau almost 8 years ago · 461 replies

Squad rules terminology refresher:

  • We can register up to 25 players who are over 21
  • We can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players
  • Homegrown player means 36 months spent in England before end of season in which they turn 21
  • U21 player means any player born on or after January 1st 1996
  • U21 players don't have to be registered in order to play, which means we can have as many as we want

Confirmed transfers in/out:

  • Lacazette has signed for a club record £46m initial fee
  • Sanogo left on a free transfer on June 30th
  • Kolasinac joined on a free transfer on July 1st
  • Ospina has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Lucas Perez has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus for £10m

Likely transfers in/out:

  • Debuchy leaving has been on the cards for some time
  • Jenkinson could go on another season-long loan or permanent move
  • Unless said in jest, Wenger did say he wants to bid on Mahrez

Reading some of the suggestions that were posted here... Looks like Arsenalreport has finally gone full retard. Bring back Cesc? Young players will look up to him? To who? The cunt who stabbed us in the back? Cretins.

He had a slump but you know what? He might get out of the slump if he is at Arsenal.

On to this list, we are sort of in a need with the left-back area. I know we are getting Sead Kolasinac but a great player to get would be Ryan Sessegnon who is 17 and already starting for Fulham FC. Plenty of potential and is even English which would count as a homegrown to allow us to have more players in the squad. Of course, we have to be quick since Liverpool are targeting him.

KOSCIELNY IN EXIT TALKS

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is in talks with Marseille over a potential summer switch to Ligue 1, according to a report from Canal Plus , cited by GFFN .

The Gunners centre-back has made 32 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger's side and has three years remaining on his current deal at the Emirates.

With the future of Arsenal boss Wenger uncertain, however, the French publication claims Koscielny is keeping his options open ahead of next season.

PSG prioritize Sanchez as their prime target

PSG faces a significant challenge as many of Europe’s biggest sides are vying for the Chile international Alexis Sanchez, and even though reports in Germany suggest Bayern Munich may have cooled their interest due to the attacker’s wage demands, Manchester City are among those poised to swoop.

UTD OPEN TO SMALLING OFFERS

Manchester United will entertain summer transfer bid for centre-back Chris Smalling, ESPN reports.

The article claims Smalling has fallen behind Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly in the centre-back pecking order, and with Michael Keane looking likely to join in the summer Smalling looks to be first for the chopping block.

Arsenal have shown interest in Smalling in the past, with Arsene Wenger said to be an admirer.

ARSENAL PLOT HULK SWOOP

Arsenal will look to bring Hulk back to Europe from Shanghai SIPG if Alexis Sanchez leaves the club this summer, reports Don Balon.

The Brazilian has been in China since June 2016, but the Gunners see him as an ideal replacement for a man who could move on as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his contract.

Hulk is a great player but has had his success in money leagues. Let's hope we can get something good out of him if he goes to Arsenal.

I also wonder if Arsenal is willing to pay him as much as he is getting paid in China.

He's better than nobody. Of course, he is more of a desperate attempt and the fact there are other players to race for over him but he is still an option.

Also, I like to use Grammarly because I'm INTERESTED in my spelling.

Also, I wasn't yelling when I capitalized that word you misspelled.

Its purely a rumour.. Hulk is having a career vacation in China and can't be ready for Europe again.. He has put on more weight than before..

It's kind of amazing how we almost signed these guys but didn't because of a friendly and the fact we couldn't make an agreement the way Wenger could have gotten Gary Cahill from Bolton in 2012 but just couldn't agree a fee.

With this window coming up, we need to resign key players like the Ox, Sanchez, and/or Ozil. Otherwise, we will have a harder time to bring talent in if we lose them in this window.

What about trying for Moussa Dembelé? If we lose Gibbs, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, we will need to replace them with home-grown players. Despite being French, Dembelé spent the required minimum of 3 years at an English club (Fulham between 2012 and 2016), so he could be later registered as HG (ATM he's 20, so we don't need to register him in the squad anyway).
