The almighty 2016-2017 summer transfer window thread

Yarmolenko is starting to talk about Everton being a better fit form him than Barca because he wants to play regularly rather than "take selfies with Messi". Never thought he would even think about leaving, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Unless he goes to Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea of course, then I'll claim I never really wanted him.

My favourite video is the Dia Des Despues video of Depor vs Barca.

Amazing amount of shithousery on display by our Perez. Big fan of it. Getting in Barca players faces, calling his own teammates mother fuckers and feigning injury all over the place. Great stuff

I've just watched that video against Barca.

Apparently Deportivo were about to get relegated, had to get somemothing out of that game to stay up, so Perez was doing all he could. And they stayed up!

Unbelieveable passion! I hope he brings that fighting spirit to Arsenal.

Homegrown > talent.

Or are they leaving space for wide attacking players who are not hg or u21 because walcotts massive wages?

Wenger screwed the pooch on gnabry. There better at least be a buyback clause or a reservation of a portion of future sale proceeds.

At least we have 5 million a year lining walcotts pockets for the next 10 years.

Wilshere to Roma refused by arsenal, sending him to Bournemouth instead. To play under Eddie Howe. Tin foil hat on......

So to summarise the summer window:

  1. Wenger got rid of four central midfielders and brought in one replacement. Squad depth FTW.
  2. Wenger got rid of two wingers, brought in zero replacements. Worth mentioning that we were already short on wingers. Squad depth FTW.
  3. Wenger failed in offloading Sanogo and Debuchy, for some inexplicable reason.
  4. Wenger brought in two very good players and one probably very good player.
  5. If Ozil is injured, we are royally screwed. Cazorla the only player who can comfortably sustain a prolonged run as #10, and if he's in the #10 position we are very short in CM as previously mentioned.

So yeah. I give this window a 6/10. Would not live through again.

We still have Debuchy?

He is injured and can't pass a medical. Had they concluded their business in July, this would not have been an issue.

Injured? Since when?

He had a thigh injury that kept him out of Euros. According to mirror, they said he had a calf injury that was keeping him from being traded.

But also, with us loaning Callum, if Bellerin was injured, who would play RB if Debuchy was gone?
