Sanchez is better n10 than Ozil (who is a fraud)

Posted by TopTopQuality over 9 years ago · 46 replies

Watch this compilation, ignore the goals and dribbling, just watch his passing. https://youtu.be/zu_GJNsqh80?t=2m35s

Ozil is a fraud who is a waste of space in the n10 position. They don't click with Sanchez because Sanchez always cuts inside and they get in each other's ways.

Sanchez scored 20+ goals in his first season despite playing out wide.

Imagine how many he would score playing behind Giroud. Plus Sanchez is one of the best dribblers in the world.

His potential is being wasted out wide. If he got a full season playing as n10 he'd be a Balon D'Or nominee with a couple of seasons.

I really wish PSG bid for Ozil £50m and we accept, flog him, and bid £60m for Lewandowski.

But pretty much all Arsenal fans are in such denial, "OZIL IS WORLD CLASS, HE CAN'T DO NO WRONG!!! BECAUSE HE COST A SHIT LOAD OF MONEY!!!". I really hope he gets injured and we get a full season of Sanchez as n10. Plus there's plenty of cover to rotate him against lesser teams to prevent a burn out - Cazorla, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky.

You're trying to insult and provoke me. But you won't succeed.

You're attacking me personally and not my argument.

Sooner or later Wenger will have to come to terms with the truth - Ozil doesn't fit into this team.

If Ozil left it would also free up space for Wilshere, Ox and Ramsey to play more games.

Ramsey has been voicing his frustration about not playing in the middle. Also been talking about going to Spain one day. I'd rather if Ozil left than Ramsey.

Sanchez is best as the spearhead. He is best when he drives forward and runs with the ball. He loses the ball and misplaces passes far too much to be a genuine playmaker. He also has a tendency not to pass when he should and hogs it too much. If he loses it in the 10 position smack in the middle of the pitch we are highly vulnerable to a counterattack.

His best position is where it is now, one of the front three.

I like the conviction of your analysis despite Sanchez having played ZERO games as n10 for Arsenal.

This is the second thread you start about this. What is the basis for discussion? We've given you stats, we've given you well-informed analysis, we've given you armchair analysis...and still you seem completely closed off to the idea that you might be wrong. Have you considered that perhaps you're not seeing what everyone else are seeing?

Koscielny has played 0 games as striker as well, doesn't mean you need to see him there to know he can't be one. Sanchez has shown few attributes to make it as a genuine 10 who can control and dictate the tempo of the game. Sanchez plays one way that is unsuitable for a trequartista. His passing accuracy in the 70's is too low and erratic. I've already mentioned his tendency to lose the ball as he is a strong running player, not a passing type. He will try to take players on, even when he's crowded out. This is very dangerous especially considering how vulnerable we are to quick counterattacks.

What he is doing now in the front three is invaluable, as he pulls defenders all over the place, can beat them one on one and is a serious goal threat. If he has an off game or makes a few errors it is ok , he only needs to perform one or two pieces of magic at crucial times as he is not dictating the whole match or in a position where losing possession is too costly.

If by stats you mean Ozil's key passes, plus all that "off the ball movement" that's really clutching for straws. I guess the motivation is that it really bothers me, I can imagine Arsenal playing much better and scoring much more goals with Sanchez as n10. And Ozil would play much better in a another team with fast wingers, especially somewhere like Spain, France. Imagine if we got Reus to play on the left and Sanchez moved central. Ozil doesn't score goals, his assists were poor last season, even per minute, because there are no fast wingers at Arsenal, except Walcott who hardly ever plays now. Ozil doesn't have a partnership with Sanchez because Sanchez cuts inside and they get in each other's ways. Plus when Ramsey is playing right wing, he also drifts inside, the opposition parks the bus, Arsenal play really narrow and do all that pointless passing back and forth. The whole structure is wrong and Ozil is the main culprit.

You do realise that when Alexis & co cuts inside players are capable of moving so they're not all next to each other in a 10m space, right?

You disgust me as human bean if you wish someone else injury, and not just someone, but player who play for club you claim you support.

Fak off back to your mossy cave.

FYI - Sanchez plays as n10 for Chile and does it pretty well. Plus I think he played as n10 at Udinese

Koscielny as striker? I don't know what you're smoking. Maybe Cazorla as goalkeeper? Why are you changing the subject? Koscielny isn't a striker and it really is a lame example. But Sanchez has played as n10 in his career successfully.

Actually I wrote that out of frustration. What I really want is Ozil to be sold for lots of money.

This is Özil's heatmap from when we battered Liverpoo:

As you can see, him and Alexis are intelligent enough to shuffle around and be as fluid as they want. They're clearly a fluid duo and if you don't think they work together then I'm sorry but you are clueless.

It's a two striker system where he has a strike partner, a lot different to controlling the entire front 3. If we changed to a 4-4-2 with Giroud and Sanchez up top, then yes it could work. But Sanchez's role would be different as a second striker and we don't play that system. As it is, Sanchez often acts like a second striker/inside forward anyway with Giroud pulling wide to make room.

You were the one who raised the issue of Sanchez playing zero games as a 10 for Arsenal. My point is, he doesn't have to play there to see that it wouldn't be the best idea.

http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/418 Here, scroll to the bottom. He is a second striker, not playing behind a striker.

If by them working together you mean them swapping places during games, I'm not the clueless one. Oh, how does Ozil play on the wing? There's no cohesion between them. How many assist has Ozil provided to Sanchez? Not many.

Dunno they work quite well tbh

Özil has looked great in pre-season, fitter than ever too. They'll be unreal together next season, if only we had a world class striker in front of them.

Well done digging up that assist vs Reading, that's probably the only assist you could find. I don't remmeber any other assists.

I remember watching that game and going "NO F*CKING WAY!! OZIL ASSIST TO SANCHEZ???"

Second striker or n10, the point is Sanchez is much better playing centrally but not alone. I remember when he played CF when Giroud was injured he really struggled.

But Giroud's strength, hight and link up play would really compliment Sanchez and them 2 would be unstoppable.
