A January signing is vital imo. A real booster for the second half of the season

What position though?

CF: Theo and Giroud are doing well, offer two completely different options and are pushing each other to perform. Bringing in some big-name striker means the end of that, and likely the end of Wenger trying different options. Someone like Benzema would play automatically, regardless of whether Theo or Giroud would be a better fit tactically.

DM: Can't bring in a big name here. Big names won't come to Arsenal to sit on the bench, which means a big name means the death of Coquelin, who I think is one of the best classic DMs in the world at the moment. So it would have to be a squad DM...but we have those in the U21s.

CB: Have enough of those, four is plenty.

CM: Have enough of those, a billion is plenty.

Pacey winger is the only option for me, seeing as we don't have much diversity on the flanks. Theo and Ox are the only proper options on the right wing, but with Theo getting an opportunity as striker we only have Ox as the natural right winger. Ramsey should not play there.

Is Hazard available? I'm sure he'd like to play for a big team instead? Switch Sanchez to the right, have Hazard on the left? No? Ok.

A nice young deep lying playmaker would be perfect. From the looks of things in the academy Bielik is being converted to a CB whilst we have no real defensive midfielders. Someone like Sergi Samper or an all rounder like Bazoer could become great assets against lower teams at home if we ever need to give Coq a rest.

I think a lot of wing options will be available in the Summer, and it's imperative that we're in for a world class one.

Who do you think is on the market?

These borderline realism for Arsenal btw, but:

  • Eden Hazard
  • Marco Reus
  • Antoine Griezmann (Wing/ST)
  • Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (wing/ST)
  • Nolito
  • Mkhitaryan
  • Yarmalenko

Then youngsters like Leroy Sane. ST or a Winger is crucial imo

Can't see Hazard or Yarmolenko, the latter mostly because of what many of our eastern European followers on Twitter are saying: he doesn't seem to be at all interested in moving abroad. Would love to see him in England though, only seen him a few times and he's very direct and tricky. Basically like a vodka-fuelled Gervinho.

Griezmann and Aubameyang have both been converted to strikers in the last year or so, question is if they're willing to give all that positional training up to go back to the wing. I suspect they aren't. Not that I rate Aubameyang anyway.

The only reasonable person on that list is Reus, but he is on fire in Germany and there is no way Wenger will spend the £50m it will cost to get him, especially since he probably thinks we're fine on the flanks.

Griezmann is most likely not available this January.

Carvalho would be a good January addition, provided they salvage their position in the ucl group

Well, according to my super-fantastic knowledge and experience of playing FIFA manager mode since its inception, we should send all our scouts to find us world class players and then buy them by offering them cash and our players. e.g. £23m + Giroud for Lacazette. Never fail. As I have won every thing there is to win. Oh a cheeky bid for Alaba is also advisable.

On a serious note: no, I don't think we will buy anyone. If we do buy someone, it would be a surprise and he probably won't hit top form until next season anyway. So yeah, our season really hangs on how we can manage our injury problems.

I don't know but a striker is an urgent acquisition whether it be a loan or whatever as long as they're good enough to cover Giroud & Theo

Who is good enough to provide cover for theo and lamppost? WELBECK!

Who is good enough to provide cover for Ramsey, Santi, Le Coq? WILSHERE!

Lacazette, Morata, Reus. Even Imanol Agirretxe they should look at.

Neither Lacazette, Morata, nor Agirretxe are better options than Theo or Giroud though. Reus would be a good signing, but there is no way Wenger is prepared to spend the £50-60m necessary to bring him to London.

We need a third choice striker or another winger if Welbz injury is as bad as reported. We can't afford to play Giroud & Theo on the pitch at the same time.

Someone said Alex Teixeira would be a good purchase for us, he's only played at CAM his entire career at Shakhtar but could he play wide? He's a goalscoring machine

I completely agree, but our injury woes are the biggest problem at the moment. Joel Campbell just isn't experienced enough to fill in. If we want the respect of a top club in Europe we need to make big signings, someone on loan for the time being from Ligue 1, Bundelisga fit in the easiest with Wenger's management .

Reus

Lacazette

Lavezzi

+Agirretxe

Morata

etc.
