Wouldn't we all, but it's not a spending season this year it seems. Is there a quota for how many european players for each club? Just wondering. Just Homegrown right?

This page shows the allowed quota. To summarise: we can buy three more non-homegrown non-U21 players without a problem.

I think one or two players in at jan especially with santi and the coquelin out for 3 month

I thunk they should go for Bender in leverkusen og long time rumored carvalho.

but i don't think that Wenger will go there. not with Jack coming back and flamini playing

Sporting Witness states that we're scouting Ruben Neves very hard. Last time they said they saw such intensity was when Chelsea were scouting Matic. Promising signs, could be key for us.

Can't see him giving up his role at Porto to come sit on our bench.

What bench? Coquelin is out for a long time. If he comes and makes that spot his own then Coq will have to try and win it back like Debuchy with Bellerin.

Well think about it. He's 18 years old, vice captain and already a key player for a pretty big club - a club whose club president just came out and said he'd wish Neves would be a Porto player for the remainder of his career. Unless we shower him with cash, why would he want to take a step back to become a squad player with only a chance to break through?

We can't promise him he's gonna play ahead of anyone. We already have Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Flamini, Arteta, Rosicky and now maybe even Chambers who can play in either of those two CM positions. And yes I understand we have injury problems, but they are temporary. In three months all our CMs could be fine but we have no full-backs. Where is Neves then? On the bench, that's where.

He's a defensive midfielder, we only have one player in that position who I trust is good enough to challenge for the title. The other options are Flamini & Arteta who are fucking awful, that's not even mentioning Flamini is more of a B2B anyway. Ramsey, Wilshere, Santi & Rosicky can't play there.

A young-ish DM & a winger/striker and we can challenge for the title post January as long as we're not more than 5 points adrift from City

He's a defensive midfielder

...but he's not really. He's a CM, just like most of our options in that slot. He is way more B2B than Flamini, which I don't even agree is a B2B. Flamster has gone #YOLOSTRIKER a few times, doesn't make him a B2B. In the last two games he's been really good covering for Coquelin.

I don't think adding an unexperienced 18-year old would make us challenge for anything. He's not that good.

We don't even need a pure DM, a deep lying playmaker is good too. Arteta became absolutely vital there for a few seasons before he started to lose his legs. An intelligent midfielder would be perfect, a combination of someone like Neves & Coq would be great in tough games.

That being said, I would prefer someone like William Carvalho, reminds me of Matic pre-2015. So physically strong and powerful yet his passing accuracy, delivery and vision is superb.

Taking in consideration the recent injuries, we can all agree that Alexis Sanchez should be rested for the matches that are not that important. And Kieran Gibbs is definetely not an alternative. Ivan Cavaleiro could be the perfect guy for the job, pacy, young, only 22 years old, and can play as a forward too, he's got some great finishing, and his passing is pretty good, and definitely could become a first team player in the future.

Which game is not important?

I did make a mistake, all games are important, but it's about the adversary, for example, if we played against Bournmouth, we could rest Sanchez, and use someone else instead, that got the pace, that got the vision, and that could be Cavailero.

Pls go and look in other teams and see when their best players the top players are rested. Never. Only time players like Alexis are out of the first XI is when they are injured or coming back from injury and not 100% fit.

They should seek a central midfield partner for Ramsey. A loan for rabiot with an option to buy seems to be a good january move.

I also think stones would be a good target. Send Chambers to Everton plus cash to get that done.

As far as forwards are concerned, I don't think anyone worth buying will be available in january, but there could be some worthy young target in eredivisie or lugue 1 with whom I am unfamiliar.

This league competition is wide open, especially if they take points from city.
